Christmas Project - Noel
Decoupage Christmas Craft Ideas
Hello and welcome to another Creative Stuff project. The theme for this month is Christmas so I thought it quite appropriate to us our Splosh white letters N, O, E, and L to create a decorative theme piece. The letters could be used as a center piece on your dinner table, placed under the Christmas tree, as a wall hanging, in a shop window or in the entrance hall to create a Christmas spirit or even as a great Christmas gift ideas.
Let us begin, for this project you will need your Splosh white letters, PVA paints, Paint Brushes, paint rollers, glue, varnish, sand paper and your chosen decorative gift papers to cover your letters.
Noel - Step One

Step 1
Using a brush for the sides and a foam roller for the back of the letter, paint 2 coats of paint with your preferred colour ( Dulux or Resene ) test pots are good. Make sure that first coat is dry before applying a second. This can be sped up by using a hair dryer.
Noel - Step Three

Step 4
When the paper is completely dry, cut the edges of the paper away using a sharp scalpel or craft knife. Make sure that the blade is used right up to the edge. If any paint at this stage gets removed then don’t worry as the edge will get repainted latter. Lift all loose edges and reseal with glue.
Noel - Step Five

Step 7
Using a small flat brush, repaint around the edges, bringing a line around the letter and covering the white edges of the paper
Step 8
Varnish another 2 coats including edges to finish off the letter.
Noel - Step Two

Step 2
Cut a piece of paper. (giftwrap or scrap book paper) slightly larger than the letter.
Step 3
Apply PVA glue onto the surface of the white letter. (front side) using the foam roller. Make sure that the entire surface is covered with glue. Apply the paper to the surface rubbing out any creases or bubbles.
Noel - Step Four

Step 5
Using 600 gnt sand paper, sand all edges to make smooth.
Step 6
Using a foam roller, roll on two coats of hard varnish over the entire surface of the paper leave to dry between coats.
Noel - Step Six

And there you have it, four simple beautifully decorated letters that will add that WOW factor to any display. Thank you for your time and Merry Christmas to you and your famalies.
